A Colloquium on Compassion: Sunday 10 October 2010, 3pm at Glen Iris Road Uniting Church, Glen Iris. Inspired by the call of author Karen Armstrong to join her Charter for Compassion, the Progressive Christian Network of Victoria invites members and friends to discuss the "tough job" of compassion that is everyone's job in a post-modern world. This is an invitation to journey beyond compassion as superficial niceness, and to discover the crucial role of all people of faith to engage themselves in life's tough problems. Former Prison Chaplain and Human Rights Policy Advocate Peter Norden will join others to consider how an emerging Christian understanding can lead to deeper action.
